Luis Morales of Bridgeport was observed concealing $311 worth of clothing and leaving the store around 1:54 p.m., Friday, May 10, said Fairfield Police Chief Christopher Lyddy.
While leaving Morales was stopped by a loss prevention employees and returned to the office. During processing, Morales pulled a knife from his pocket and fled the store with the loss prevention employee in pursuit, said Lyddy.
Fairfield officers joined in the foot pursuit and arrested Morales on Roseville Street. The knife was also recovered, he added.
During the event in the store, a women fell and hit her head as she was fleeing from the incident. She was treated on scene by paramedics and declined to go to the hospital.
Morales was charged with robbery, interfering with police and larceny. He was held on $20,000 bond and remanded to the custody of Parole.
